Andrew McLean

Andrew McLean lives in Park City, Utah and has been pursuing ski mountaineering for over 20 years.  His writings, photography and exploits have appeared in Outside, Powder, National Geographic Adventure, Couloir, Backcountry and Climbing magazines, as well as numerous catalogs.  He is the author of "The Chuting Gallery" which was the first book dedicated exclusively to documenting steep descents. In his quest for unique skiing opportunities, he has traveled to Tibet, Alaska, Antarctica, Baffin Island, Patagonia, New Zealand and Europe where he has accumulated over 100 first descents. In the off-season, Andrew is a freelance product designer specializing in outdoor equipment.

-Goals/plans for season

1) Ski in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco (Africa) to complete a long term quest to ski mountaineer on all seven continents.
2) Travel to Canada twice for backcountry festivals
3) Help design, organize and host the 2007 PowderKeg race, complete with a new course and new event (Relay)
4) Go on a spring ski mountaineering expedition - location to be determined
5) Ski as much local Utah powder as possible
6) Ski some new lines in the Wasatch
