Whit Magro was in the Tetons of Wyoming at the age of sixteen when he tied in for his first time and discovered his passion for the sport of climbing. As things evolved he started pursuing this passion in the greater ranges of the world with expeditions to Pakistan, Nepal, Patagonia, and extensive climbing throughout the USA sharpening his skills. Magro says, "Since I was very little I have always had a very strong connection with nature and what it brings out in me physically. I was lucky to find climbing." His efforts as an alpine climber have received international recognition over the years.
Whit's hard working ethics also shine through in other aspects of his life. He is an owner of Stronghold Fabrication, a small business that specializes in custom ironwork and artificial climbing boulder construction. Your biggest influence growing up:My mom and pops, they always showed me how to work hard and stay positive in life.
Biggest idol in your sport growing up: Jack Tackle, Alex Lowe, and Bean Bowers were all people I looked up to once climbing became a serious part of my life.
What age did you start climbing: I was 16 the first time I tied in. I was in Grand Teton National Park.
How would you describe your style:I have been using the phrase "Daddy Style" in place of "Alpine Style." You show up fit climb something huge and then get back to the family.
What can't you live without: Climbing, it gives me balance in my life and I believe in what it does for me physically and mentally.
What keeps you motivated: The bigger projects like new routes in Patagonia for example. I like to set goals and have projects that push me to get better.
If you could be a super hero who: Duh…Spiderman.

Strangest medical issue: I have a poky rib, I broke it after a huge fall.
