I was born in Utah but grew up in Indiana. I returned to the mountains as soon as I could and have never looked back. Growing up, track was the focus but that has now shifted to trying to move quickly and efficiently through the mountains, both on skis or by foot. Part of the impetus for a light and fast style is a busy work and family life so I want to ski or run as much as possible in the limited time I have. This has led to some exciting days trying to climb and ski big peaks like Mount Rainier or the Grand Teton in a morning to be back by lunch. I've always felt like more skiing equals more fun and since at this stage of life I don't have the time to go on expeditions, I better find ways to fit in the fun every day. By combining a little fitness with the super light gear SCARPA has developed, what we can do in a day is now only limited by our imaginations.
