Ultra-soft, sensitive, and precise…Three words often used to describe SCARPA’s most specialized line of rock shoes. This soft shoe lineup from SCARPA is impressive and has just gotten better, with the update to the Furia, the Furia S. This new model maintains the original Furia’s extremely soft feel and downturned profile but has been redefined to greater excel on overhanging routes and boulder problems.
The reinvented upper of the Furia S allows for a more precise fit for a broader range of foot shapes, thanks to its’ Z closure system that is paired with a lower volume toe box. The toe has additional rubber coverage which provides increased confidence during toe hooks and scumming. The heel on the Furia S is thin, snug and narrow and has also been redesigned with more rubber which translates to excellent heel hooking performance.
The asymmetrical shape of the shoe allows you to get the most power possible from your feet, even with its’ incredibly soft construction. The Tension System rand that connects the heel to the forefoot maintains the shape of the shoe and delivers a high amount of energy to your quick, dynamic movements. The tension created with this active rand allows for the ultimate transfer of power, creating a spring-like responsiveness when making big moves on small footholds.
The softness of the rubber of the Furia S gives you a barefoot-like experience, allowing you be in control of your toes and use them to wrap around holds. With a Vibram XS Grip 2 Rubber outsole, this shoe sticks like glue on even the most slippery surfaces. As one of our most sensitive models, the Furia S is a great option for advanced climbers looking for a shoe that will give them confidence on routes involving precise footwork and dynamic movements.
